Join us as we take the rave to our offspring.
Mike Robinson and Liesel Cobby draw on years of party-going experience to bring you an event for children with all the aesthetics of adult club nights.
The idea is to produce a club/rave atmosphere to a kids’ party. The emphasis is squarely on dancing and enjoyment that parents and children alike can enjoy. The music policy will be a mix of old-school house music, melodically and lyrically accessible to your kids, and modern-day danceable chart hits beloved of youngsters and tolerable to parents. Think Alison Limerick interspersed with Justin Timberlake, and Frankie Knuckles rubbing shoulders with Little Mix, and you have a mix where everyone is satisfied.
We’ve all been at our kids’ parties and been stood around, bored, watching them run riot. This is a chance to participate, educate and exercise. The music should elicit the necessity to dance, and your children will love partying with you and their friends. We will eschew the usual party games; the aim being to reproduce our halcyon days, and introduce our children to the joys of dancing the night (afternoon) away with carefree abandon.
Liesel is an experienced dance teacher and party-starter, and Mike has the musical nous to ensure the dancefloor remains full at all times. All we require is audience participation, shedding of inhibitions and smiling faces. There will be face-painting, glow-sticks and ice-lollies for the kids, and a stocked bar for the adults. Needless to say, the booze should not be abused as it’s for the kids essentially, but the option for a couple of pints to loosen you up is there.
The first event will take place at UNION MASH-UP on SATURDAY JULY 15th at 2pm – 4pm.
Age: 3 years and above, however, younger ages are permitted under strict supervision by parents.
Bring a smile, a pair of suitable dancing shoes, and leave egos at the door.
