Nourishment #9 This Thurs @unionmashup @ARTFORHULL @2017hull

September’s nourishment welcomes two multi-layered artists who both have strong connection with the city’s Red Gallery.

Lou Hazelwood is an artist and researcher working with temporality, technical and narrative memory, epitaph, nostalgia and display. She is an active meber of Red Gallery and is currently researching, visiting collections and speaking to enthusiasts and specialists about Victorian children’s magic lantern slides, toy projectors, their narratives and developing artistic responses for a new body of work.

Richard Shields investigates varied contemporary issues through the use of the site specific, found objects and traditional skills. His topics of interest lie in financial posturing, religion and the autopsy of artistic process through an allegory with a sense of humour.
